Three East Rockaway students perform at choral conference in Albany

Three East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School students recently traveled to Albany to perform with the New York American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Middle School Honor Choir. Ashley Guardado, Julian Mena and AnnMarie Piazza were selected to perform alongside 115 of the state’s best middle school singers at ACDA’s annual summer conference, held Aug. 7-9, proudly representing East Rockaway’s music program.

The honor choir performance at ACDA’s summer conference offers gifted singers the opportunity to rehearse and perform high-level music alongside other exceptional choral students from across the state. Students are nominated by a New York-based ACDA member who works closely with them in a choral setting. East Rockaway’s trio worked diligently to learn their performance pieces over summer break and delivered a stellar performance at the conference, held at Siena University.
