East Rockaway High School sees strong academic growth in 2025-26

East Rockaway High School closed out the 2025-26 school year with impressive academic gains, reflecting a sustained commitment to student achievement and college readiness.
Among the school's most notable successes is the continued growth of its Advanced Placement program. In 2022, 60% of students earned a score of 3 or higher on their AP exams. That figure has climbed steadily each year, reaching 90% in 2026, an increase of 30 percentage points in just four years.
Student participation in AP courses has also grown significantly. The number of AP exams taken increased from 217 in 2022 to 336 in 2026, a nearly 55% increase. The growth demonstrates that more students are challenging themselves with college-level coursework while continuing to achieve at a high level.
East Rockaway High School also achieved a 100% graduation rate in 2026, a rare accomplishment for New York State schools. Even more impressive, this marks the fourth consecutive year the school has achieved a 100% graduation rate, reflecting a sustained commitment to helping every student succeed.
Regents exam results have also trended upward, including an increase in the number of students earning mastery-level scores.
To provide the community with a comprehensive look at these accomplishments, the district is preparing a District Report Card highlighting academic growth and key performance data from across the school system. The report will be presented to the Board of Education and community this fall.
These results reflect the dedication of East Rockaway High School's students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators, whose collective efforts continue to drive academic excellence.
