East Rockaway forensics students explore careers in law enforcement at Nassau County Police Training

Forensics students at East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School recently visited the Nassau County Police Department Training Facility in Uniondale to learn about careers in law enforcement.
Students and teachers participated in a comprehensive tour of the facility, gaining insights into the various specialties and operational units within the police department. The students engaged in interactive sessions with the Equine Unit, learning about mounted patrols; the Aviation Unit, observing drone and helicopter operations; Cyber Crimes, exploring digital investigation techniques; and the Physical Training Unit, experiencing hands-on exercises. Additionally, they visited the staging area, where police officers conduct simulated scenarios such as high-speed chases, bank robberies, and hostage negotiations to prepare for real-world incidents.
It was an insightful and inspiring visit that not only provided students with valuable knowledge and detailed information about potential careers in law enforcement but also motivated them to consider this path as a viable and rewarding option.
