East Rockaway Enterprise students get a masterclass in market research

Fifth and sixth grade Enterprise students at Centre Avenue and Rhame Avenue Elementary Schools have been putting their financial minds to work through the “Stock Market Game,” a hands-on program that teaches investing, financial literacy and how current events shape the markets. The competition has brought real energy to the classroom – teams eagerly check their portfolios, make trades and track their progress. One team is currently sitting in first place in the region.
To deepen that learning, students recently had the opportunity to hear directly from someone who works at the highest levels of financial markets research. Nicholas Bohnsack, co-founder and President of Strategas, a global financial markets research firm, joined the Enterprise classroom virtually to share his expertise with the group.
Mr. Bohnsack walked students through the importance of understanding money and doing thorough market research before making any investment decisions. He explained how events around the world – from major news stories to weather patterns and holidays – can move the markets in meaningful ways and why paying close attention to those signals matters. Students came prepared with questions and left with something even more valuable: practical advice on how to start investing wisely now, with an eye toward their financial futures.
It was an exceptional learning experience, and the East Rockaway community is grateful to Mr. Bohnsack for taking the time to share his knowledge with the next generation of investors.
