Two East Rockaway student photographers are earning recognition beyond the classroom. Remy Bruno and Mikayla Alvarez have both had their work accepted into “Get on Board,” the 2026 juried photography show presented by The Art Guild of Port Washington.

The competitive exhibition celebrates the theme of planes, trains and automobiles, inviting artists to explore movement, transportation and the journeys that connect us. Out of a field of submissions, Remy and Mikayla were among the select artists chosen to have their photographs featured in the show – a remarkable achievement for any photographer, and especially impressive for high school students.

Their success reflects not only their individual talent, but also the strength of East Rockaway's visual arts program and its commitment to nurturing creative voices at every level.
