Jethro Jacquet Named 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Winner

East Rockaway High School is thrilled to share that one of our exceptionally talented students, Jethro Jacquet, has been recognized as a 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Winner. Jethro’s original photograph entitled “Stalker” has been awarded a gold medal, a remarkable achievement that showcases his artistic talent and creative vision.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards received nearly 110,000 submissions from teens across the country, totaling over 310,000 original works. Jethro's work stood out among thousands of entries for its excellence in originality, technical skill and personal artistic expression. His outstanding accomplishment has earned him the prestigious distinction of National Medalist.
As a National Medalist, Jethro’s work will be featured in the online galleries at artandwriting.org [https://www.artandwriting.org/], ensuring that his talent reaches a wide audience. His name will also be included in “Yearbook 2025”, a publication that highlights the exceptional artistic achievements of student winners from across the nation.
Adding to this honor, all educators and students who have earned a Gold Medal are invited to attend the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 11. This prestigious event celebrates the extraordinary creative achievements of young artists and writers, making it an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, established in 1923, hold the distinction of being the nation's longest running and most esteemed recognition program for creative teens. The list of past winners includes some of the most influential figures in the arts, such as Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, Stephen King, Richard Avedon and Amanda Gorman.
