Programming: Our last assembly was “The Human Game Board” on October 7th.
We are looking forward to our next assembly on November 25th, called “Up, Up and Away”. The children will all have the opportunity to sit in the hot-air balloon and learn how they work.

S.E.P.T.A.: Nothing to report.

Teacher
Representative: Mrs. Rafferty- Thank you to the PTA for your donation to our Blue Ribbon
celebration. It is going to be a spectacular and proud event for our school. We will be celebrating on November 6th, with dignitaries, performances, activities, snacks and possibly even Channel 12 News. We urge everyone to WEAR BLUE in honor of the festivities. The Blue Ribbon sweatshirts are selling well. The last chance to change your sizes is Oct. 15th. No changes can be made after then. We also want to thank Mr. Arnold for designing the emblem used on the sweatshirts, and for donating the banner out in front of the school.

S.B.M.T.: The committee is in need of one additional parent to volunteer. Team meets every other Tuesday from 8-8:40 am.

Drug, Alcohol &
Wellness Committee: First meeting to be held October 25th.

Principal’s
Report: Board of Education Appreciation Night is October 20th. Mrs. Veltre has organized a power point presentation and a spectacular performance by our very own 1st graders. All of the parents are encouraged to attend. This is the night where we show our appreciation for their time and dedication to our schools and all that they do.
We will be celebrating our Blue Ribbon award on November 6th from 9-10 am.
November 2nd, once again, is a FULL DAY of school and NO conferences will be held on that day.
On November 3rd, school is closed for Election Day. Parent-teacher conferences will be held that morning, and also on November 5th in the evening.
Ms. Lyons and Mrs. Rafferty WILL NOT be available for conferences on November 3rd, as they will be in Washington D.C. accepting our Blue Ribbon.
As for the peanut butter and allergy issues: the board has not made a finite decision as of yet. They are hoping to come to a final decision by next Wednesday, October 21st.
Picture Day was today. All went smoothly and they even finished ahead of schedule.

New Business: In two weeks we will be sending home flyers for our annual pie sale.
Board of Ed Appreciation Night is October 20th, we would love for everyone to come out and show their support for our board.
We will be setting up a booth at Oktoberfest on October 24th, from 12-5 pm. We will be doing the goldfish game and tattoos. Anyone interested in coming out to help can contact Kristen Beauchesne at 612-7206.
