Programs that educate the whole student

Did You Know?

Ø Our school has a total of 610 students; 281 of these students are enrolled in music classes. That’s 46% of our students!

Ø Over 70% of our student musicians participate in the annual solo & ensemble festival sponsored by NYSSMA.

Ø We have a state-of-the-art music technology lab and recording studio. All of our teachers have received training in the lab.

Ø SmartMusic, a computer based music program, is being used in all three of our schools.

Ø 15% of our senior band members are capable of playing more than one instrument.

Ø In addition to the regularly scheduled concerts, our students perform at various community events throughout the year such as Back to School Night, Graduation, The Memorial Day Parade, Board of Education meetings, the Senior Citizen Immunization Program, musical theater productions (both here and in venues around the area) and Broadway by the Bay.

Ø Our Senior Band travels every year to participate in a competition of bands and has never scored lower than 4^th place. Our percussion ensemble has never scored lower than 2nd place!
