Dear Centre Avenue Visitor,

Welcome to the Centre Avenue Elementary School website. Inside you will find information pertaining to our school operations. The building is host to approximately 310 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. We provide full day kindergarten and house both the district’s gifted and talented and after-school programs. Traditionally there are two sections per grade level. Our school is dedicated to the social, emotional and educational development of our students. The Centre Avenue Parent Teacher Association is a vibrant player in our learning environment. The community is supportive of our efforts and is extremely proud of its school. The building was erected in 1926 but has state-of-the-art technology. Student research and presentation of projects are top-notch. Our school scores are consistently in the top third of Long Island school districts, as evidenced on the New York State Tests in English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

Our parents are encouraged to volunteer their time and provide a boost to our already impressive program.
