order by Marie Girace at 6:00 pm and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Neil
Schloth.

Upon
motion by Neil Schloth, seconded by Michaelene Abbott-Cooper the following
items #1 & 2 were unanimously approved:
1. Approve the budget to be
presented for public vote on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in the amount of Thirty-Three
Million, Three Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Forty-Nine and No/l00 ($33,336,549.00)
Dollars.
2. Approve the following
resolution:
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of
Education adopt the following resolution:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public budget hearing of the qualified voters of
the East Rockaway Union Free School District, Nassau County, New York, will be
held on June 8, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. in the Harry Bunting Auditorium at East
Rockaway Jr/Sr High School, 443 Ocean Avenue, East Rockaway, NY 11518, for the presentation of the
budget. The budget will be available for
review beginning on June 9, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.
FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the vote by
qualified voters of the East Rockaway Union Free School District, at a special
meeting and election will be held on June 15, 2010 in the Small Gymnasium of
the East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School, 443 Ocean Avenue, East Rockaway, NY 11518, for the purpose of voting on the
appropriation of necessary funds to meet the expenditures of the East Rockaway
Union Free School District for the year 2010-2011, and for such other purposes
as may lawfully come before the voters.
The polls will be open between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. The vote shall be cast by ballot by
qualified voters upon voting machines.
FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a copy of
the detailed statement in writing of the amount of money which will be required
for the ensuing year for school purposes, exclusive of public monies,
specifying the several purposes and the amount of each, and which will be
presented by the Board of Education at the public budget hearing may be
obtained by any resident in the District at each schoolhouse in the District in
which school is maintained, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on each
day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday beginning June 9, 2010.
AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
applications for absentee ballots will be obtainable between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays, from the District
Clerk. Completed applications must be
received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the election if the
ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the
ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee ballots must be received by the
District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the special election.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the District Clerk is
hereby authorized to publish the required notices under law.
